Bushwick Book Club founder Susan Hwang and BBC contributor and producer Charlie Nieland are the duo Lusterlit, bringing Bushwick Book Club to new places where people like their music and their litreature deliciously blended. Their west coast tour kicks off appropriately at San Francisco's always adventurous Adobe Books.
Lusterlit's set includes songs from their new EPs, inspired by Kurt Vonnegut, Jonathan Ames, David Lynch, Tennessee Williams and more. Both vocalists and multi-instrumentalists, Charlie and Susan alternate lead vocals and harmonies while supporting each other on guitar, bass, synth, traditional Korean drum and accordion. In fact, there will be a special Halloween mini set of Edgar Allen Poe themed songs by Susan and Charlie and local cellist and songwriter Mia Pixley. There’s a pop quiz afterwards that turns Tennessee Williams trivia into a post-set drinking game. It’s a little nerds-gone-wild. Don't miss it!
