Red Gold, After Hailstones is the culminating exhibition of a year-long collaboration between visual artist Sienna Freeman, poet Justin Robinson, and the San Francisco based small press F U Z Z.
In response to Robinson’s “Hailstones,” a poem composed of sixty fragments, Freeman created sixty small scale collages. A selection of these collages became the book Red Gold, published by F U Z Z in January 2019. The collages were then disassembled and reworked for exhibition at the Adobe Books Backroom Gallery, furthering two major through-lines of Robinson’s poem: cycles and transitions. Freeman’s Red Gold will be for sale at Adobe Books for the duration of the exhibition.
Sienna Freeman is a San Francisco based visual artist. Her work has exhibited across the United States and internationally in Switzerland, London, Belgium, and Canada.
